Dr Young’s Alkaline Green Smoothie

vegetarian vegan raw dairy_free gluten_free egg_free nut_free soy_free blender
  • 4 cups firmly packed organic baby spinach leaves
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 2 whole peeled limes or the juice of 1 red ruby grapefruit
  • 1 English cucumber chopped
  • 1 or 2 cups of ice cubes depending on preference
  • 1 inch piece of raw creamed coconut
  • about 20 drops of stevia (I like Nu Naturals Alcohol-Free Lemon Stevia) OR 3 Tbsp coconut crystals or 2 pitted dates for those in transition
  1. Throw all of your ingredients in your blender (I use a  Vitamix) and puree until smooth and creamy.
  2. Adjust sweetener to taste and devour. YUMMO!
  3. Serves 2.

The best tasting spinach has vibrant bright green leaves with crisp stems. This spinach also has the highest nutritional value. Purchase organic wherever possible. Avoid wilted leaves that have yellow discolouring, bruising, or a slimy coating. This spinach has passed its prime and should not be consumed.
