Raw Ginger Lemon Tonic

vegetarian raw dairy_free gluten_free egg_free nut_free soy_free blender
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cups warm filtered water
  • 1/4 cup raw organic honey (local if possible - read my note in the post)
  • 1 Tbsp freshly grated ginger
  1. Dissolve the raw honey in the warm water.
  2. Place everything in the blender (I use my Vitamix) and pulse a few times until completely combined. You can also just stir or shake the mixture. 

This recipes makes exactly two 16-ounce glasses. Sip, enjoy, and heal! YUM!

Lemons continue to respire and ripen after they have been harvested. The faster they respire the more carbon dioxide they produce, and the quicker they spoil. Store your lemons in the fridge to slow this down and they should keep for up to about ten days. Make sure you do not store them in plastic bags where they are on top of each other. When there is limited oxygen, the ethylene gas gets trapped, causing them to rot. Always bring them to room temperature to get the most juice out of them.
