Yahoo Health Blending with Judy Greer
I had a blast shooting some episodes of Reluctantly Healthy with Judy Greer. Judy's hilarious new book, I Don't Know Where You Know Me From: Confessions Of A Co-Star was released by the same day as The Blender Girl! She was hanging out with Scott at Random House Audio when she was recording the Audio Version of her book. Don't miss out on listening to her narrate her own stories. It is just brilliant.
Judy has SO much going on right now. She is promoting her book, is shooting movies, has a fabulous new show, Married, and also hosts Reluctantly Healthy, where you can learn so much about healthy living in a fun way.
The first episode we shot just aired yesterday on the Yahoo Home Page. I showed Judy how to make the Tastes-Like-Ice-Cream Kale Shake from the book. Make sure you keep watching until the end for the hilarious out-take! What fun!
You can view the episode here.
I will post the other two episodes when they air later this year.
Home & Family - Hallmark Channel Raw Tacos on Home & Family
I had so much fun "uncooking" on the Home & Family show for the Hallmark Channel. My dear friend Sophie Uliano is a regular on the show, and had been telling me for ages about how much fun she had hanging out with Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare and the rest of the "family."
Shooting the Earth Day 2014 episode with Sophie and fellow guests Tabatha Coffey, Reno Wilson, Laura Nativo, Alan Luxmore, and Jessie Jane was just an absolute blast. Tabatha talked about her new book, OWN IT! and Reno shared his spinning initiative with the American Heart Foundation.
Mark and Cristina are just so lovely, and hanging out with the rest of the cast and crew was just delightful. Everybody was so lovely and welcoming as I drove onto the lot at Universal, and it really did feel like a stepping into a family home.
I made my raw, alkaline tacos and raspberry lemon cheesecake from The Blender Girl cookbook and everybody loved them.
You can watch the segment here on the Home & Family website.
WGN Easy Healthy Recipes
I shared the sweet kale shake that tastes like ice-cream. (If you haven't tried it don't miss it because it is still the most visited recipe on my site and the most fabulous introduction to green smoothies!)
I also made the amazing creamy of cauliflower soup that is my most requested recipe. It takes 10 minutes hands-on time and will make you look like a gourmet chef. It is just so simple and delicious.
Then I made a basil pesto pasta that tastes like it has aged parmesan in it. The secret ingredient? Miso paste. Check out my book for the recipe.
LA Times CookBook Cafe App
I was really excited when the lovely Rene Lynch, food editor at The LA Times asked to interview me for her story about the new Cookbook Cafe App that Bake Space launched last year. I first met Rene at the TechMunch LA 2011 Food Bloggers conference, where she rescued my abandoned laptop after lunch! I knew we would become fine friends. LOL! After chatting to Rene like a high school friend and almost forgetting that the subject of the conversation was NOT me, I got down to the task at hand, which was RAVING about the new Cookbook Cafe App.
I was one of a select group of bloggers who took part in the beta testing for the app last year, and I am thrilled to see it doing so well. If you haven't checked it out, head over there and see how easy it is to create your own online cookbook!
I created my digital cookbook Healthy Blender Recipes: Vegan Drinks, Shakes and Smoothies cookbook that you can download for FREE in about an hour. That is how easy it is if you have all of your text and photos ready. Creating digital cookbooks with this app really levels the playing field in cookbook publishing, and can help expand your readership and exposure as a blogger. For other people, creating a community cookbook is a great way to raise money for charity, or to celebrate a particular event.
I will publish another FREE cookbook with the cookbook cafe app later this month. Sit tight :)

Chow 5 Video Tips
I travelled to San Francisco about a month ago to shoot some videos for Chow in their test kitchen at the CBS Interactive headquarters.
This all came about after Chow featured me as their "Member Of The Month" back in February. Chow's senior food editor, Jill Santopietro, and I got along so s'blendedly during our interview that the Chow team invited me to San Francisco to shoot five blender-inspired Chow Tips. As a passionate food blogger this was a dream opportunity!
So off I went, with two Vitamix machines in hand. It was an absolute blast. I worked with Chow's phenomenal executive producer, Meredith Arthur, who is such a kind, generous, amazing lady and kindred spirit of the theatre. We got on like a house on fire and were sisters from the start. Crewmembers Mathew and Daniel were wonderful to work with too. I was disappointed not to have met Jill, who was on maternity leave. Next time! But I did chat with Jane Goldman, founder and Editor in Chief of Chow, who entertained me with wonderful stories about "the early days of Chow." I must confess to being a Jane Goldman groupie, so meeting her was a highlight of my day. She is such an inspiring woman. Oh, and let's not forget the Chow tradition of sticking your CBS pass on the Chow kitchen wall. I was like a giddy schoolgirl, when, as a humble little food blogger, I placed my name alongside some of the most famous chefs, restaurateurs and foodies in America.
Thankyou to the whole team at Chow for this wonderful opportunity, and for making my day with you so enjoyable. Vitamix and I had a lot of fun! Check out the videos and let me know what you think! Or even better, become a Chow member and post a comment under the videos.

In this issue, Michele shares her miraculous story of weight loss and throws down the gauntlet for the 100 Day Raw Weight Loss Challenge. Udi Gluten Free Foods features My Lemon Blender Pie
I must say a big "thankyou" to one of my favourite gluten free companies, Udi's Gluten Free Foods, who featured my honey lemon blender pie as their gluten free recipe of the week on their Facebook page today. Their post sent over 11,000 new visitors to that recipe in one day.
I was happily overwhelmed with grateful emails about the blender lemon pie and blender pecan pie, and the site in general. Thankyou to all of those lovely readers who contacted me. I really appreciate the support and encouragement. If you are not familiar with Udi’s phenomenal range of gluten free foods check them out! Chow Member of The Month
I am thrilled to be Chow’s Member Of The Month. I am very grateful for this opportunity! I had a really interesting phone interview with Chow’s senior food editor, Jill Santopietro. We had so much in common and had a blast chatting about food, fun and family. The wonderful team at Chow did an amazing job with the article. In it they feature some of my favourite recipes: my raw vegan mayonnaise, vegan roasted beetroot dip, raw vegan chocolate cinnamon mousse, and gluten free honey carrot and date muffins. They sampled a lot of my recipes in their test kitchen, but these were some of their favourites. Stick your snout into these troughs if you haven't already, and be sure to leave a comment at the bottom of the recipe post.
If you are not a member of the s’blended Chow community, it is easy to sign up on their home page. Chow is one of my favourite food sites. They are so quirky and fun, and there are TONS of delicious easy recipes and tips about all-things-food!
Thanks Chow. You ROCK!

Super Living Magazine Allergy Free Christmas Menu
I was thrilled when I was approached by SuperLiving (an online magazine in Australia where I contribute a weekly recipe) to create a gluten free Christmas menu modifying traditional Aussie Christmas favourites in order to make them more forgiving for those of us living with a gluten intolerance.
I decided to take the challenge one step further, and created some allergy free recipes that are gluten free, dairy free, egg free and peanut free; so that my gorgeous little niece, Alexandra (who has serious food allergies to "the big four") can happily indulge.
Check out my allergy free gluten free Christmas recipes: homemade cranberry sauce, gluten free lemon shortbread, vegan fruit mince pies and vegan chocolate balls, which make fantastic little treats to line the centre of the Christmas table.
Enjoy -- from my Christmas table to yours. I wish you all a very merry Christmas filled with laughter, joy and love as I raise my glass to all of you for a spectacular 2011.
