I am really excited to introduce you one of my greatest discoveries this year. This year it is Miracle Clay. This company produces such awesome organic, vegan products that I want everybody to know about them, and this month you can win a gift pack value at $105! You can also receive 15% OFF your entire order using coupon code: DETOXCLAY15 until April 30th.

Miracle Clay was born in the Amazon Rainforests of southeast Peru where the founder, Inna Zatulovsky, first learned about the magical powers of Calcium Montmorillonite Clay. She began selling products to friends, family, and co-workers, and word spread quickly about the incredible power of the clay, and the quality and effectiveness of her products. Inna now runs the company with her fabulous son, Vlad Zatulovsky, who joined the company in 2011 to help with sales and marketing. I am in love with this company.

I have been using clay both internally and externally for years, and I cannot rave enough about the healing powers. Clay helped Scott enormously to eradicate his acid reflux and rid his body of cancer. We both ingest clay, and also soak in clay baths every week to remove heavy metals and toxins from environmental pollutants.

Calcium Montmorillonite is an amazing edible clay with incredible healing properties. It was used medicinally for thousands of years by nearly 200 cultures, including the Egyptians, the Aztecs, and other native people of Mexico, South America, and North America. In modern times, NASA scientists conducted extensive research on this clay, and astronauts consumed it to strengthen their bodies and reverse the effects of osteoporosis caused by weightlessness during space missions.

This edible clay has a strong negative electrical charge that removes toxins, impurities, and harmful chemicals from the body. It is so effective that it has been used to remove extremely high amounts of radiation from patients affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and is currently being used to treat people affected by the tsunami in Japan. The clay is very rare, and only found in a few desert regions in the world. But, you need to be careful which clay you use. Calcium Montmorillonite is known as “Living Clay” because it consists of minerals that enhance the production of enzymes in all living organisms.

The type of clay used in Miracle Clay’s products has undergone extensive hydrothermal exposure and several scientific research studies have found this clay to be the best for internal consumption because it is active and potent. This is because igneous activity deep in the fissures of the earth, brings boiling water to the surface of the earth, and creates extensive pools of bubbling mud. These bubbling pools churn the Calcium Montmorillonite Clay, adding beneficial trace minerals and breaking down the larger size parent material. Over a long period of time this activity brings about complete fragmentation or crystallization and hydrolysis of the clay making it readily available for absorption.

I highly recommend including clay in your health regime. Most diets today are lacking in essential trace minerals vital for well being. Human cells are like electrical batteries with positive and negative charges. When the energy of the battery begins to weaken, the cell becomes sick and weak. However, if the dying cell is charged by an electrical current, it will become living once again. Minerals themselves hold positive and electrical charges. The exchange of these charges accounts for its action. Scientists are not sure exactly how this works, or to what degree it does. Yet, when the cell is given the essential minerals it needs to live, it can regenerate and "nurse" itself back to health.

Calcium Montmorillonite Clay, when consumed internally, absorbs toxins trapped in the stomach, colon, and intestines as well as delivering 57 types of pure trace minerals that are easily absorbed by the body. Scientific studies have reported that Montmorillonite Clay stimulates the immune system, and energizes cells. It really is one of the most versatile and effective natural remedies available. Clay can help:

• Detoxify the Skin & Body
• Relieve Heartburn
• Reduce Acid Reflux
• Balance Body pH Levels
• Increase T-Cell Count

The clay works in four ways to heal humans and animals:

Adsorption - Toxins, metals, and bacteria will bond to the negatively charged clay the way metal shavings are pulled onto a magnet. The clay naturally cleanses the body and skin by eliminating toxins through adsorption.
Absorption - The clay draws in impurities into its layered internal structure, like a sponge. Because of this, clay will offer long-term benefits for disease and infection, not just a quick fix.
Alkaline pH Level - This clay is highly alkaline and helps the body balance its natural pH levels. Keeping the body alkaline has been proven to improve energy levels, strengthen the immune system, reduce pain and inflammation, and slow down the aging process.
Essential Trace Minerals – The average diet is severely lacking essential trace minerals because foods contain lower levels of nutrition than they once did. The clay contains 57 types of trace minerals that are crucial for many body functions including transporting oxygen, normalizing the nervous system, and promoting healthy tissues and bones.

Here's a book that has a lot of detailed personal testimonials on the health benefits of edible clay.

Miracle Clay not only sell the edible clay, but have a fantastic range of bodycare and healthcare products. I love the organic clay soaps, which are 100% organic and extremely gentle. They contain only coconut oil, palm oil, and Calcium Montmorillonite clay. The soaps are so gentle that they can be used on your face as well. You will not believe how soft your skin is, even after just one use. The soaps are all scented with natural essential oils instead of artificial fragrances. Miracle Clay also carries a fragrance-free soap, which is fabulous for sensitive skin and perfect for people dealing with eczema, psoriasis, and other skin problems. Here’s a top tip: use the facial soap before applying the clay mask. This will help clean the topical residue, and help the clay to pull out deeper impurities from the pores.

The Clay Mask is incredible! I find that a lot of masks dry out my skin, but this mask actually keeps your skin soft and smooth. Because of the clay’s strong negative electrical charge, it draws out toxins and impurities deep within the pores. This helps to tighten your skin and leave it soft, fresh, and glowing. This clay mask is also fabulous for preventing acne. This mask is so effective, and popular with aestheticians. The great thing is, you only need a tiny amount, so a little bit goes a long way, making it economical. Just apply a very thin layer covering the entire face, and then leave it on for about 15-20 minutes. Remove with warm water and the loofah that is included in the package. This helps to exfoliate the skin. You can use this loofah several times. Just run it under some water to expand it. You will get amazing results by applying this mask about twice a week.

As good as the clay mask is, the product I like the most is the Clay Toothpaste. I get asked all the time about natural toothpaste options. Whilst I am a fan of making my own with coconut oil and baking soda (I will post a recipe later this month) I love this toothpaste for traveling, and for times when I can’t make my own. This clay toothpaste is all-natural, safe (perfect for both kids and adults) and made primarily with clay, which absorbs bacteria, which is the cause of most dental and gum problems. This toothpaste contains no fluoride, saccharine, SLS, or other toxic chemicals that are found in most commercial toothpastes. This toothpaste is great for cleaning your teeth, preventing cavities, eliminating bad breath, and excellent for healing the gums.

Try this: If you have gum problems or bleeding gums, rub some of the toothpaste on your gums before going to sleep, and just leave it on throughout the night. Miracle Clay told me that many customers have told them how much it whitened their teeth and improved their gum health to the amazement of their dentists. Those same dentist now recommend the product to all of their patients. One customer reported having a small cavity that had been left untreated. He went back to his dentist 6 months later, and the cavity had almost completely disappeared.

The Ayurveda Sesame Oil is also phenomenal. Like the clay, this skin oil can also be taken internally. This oil contains essential fatty acids Omega 6 and FA Omega 9, and is 100% pure, pharmaceutical grade, certified organic sesame oil that has been handled gently using special ayurvedic protocols. The sesame oil works amazingly well in combination with the clay toothpaste to help pull out toxins from the gums and prevent gingivitis. This process is called “Oil Pulling” and was an ancient form of dental care and general detoxification used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine. This technique is still effective today and I swear by it. Here’s a great article about oil pulling. You can also find amazing information at

To do oil pulling with this sesame oil, you take about 1 tablespoon of the oil in the morning on an empty stomach and swish it around in your mouth, remembering to pull it through the teeth, not just swishing side to side. Move your chin up and down as if you’re chewing also helps to draw out your saliva and activate digestion. This draws the poisons from the blood through the mucous membranes in the mouth. For the best results, try to swish for about 15 - 20 minutes. Now, this seems like a long time when you first start. So, if you can’t stand the taste or sensation (which is very common in the beginning) start slowly and build up to 20 minutes. When the oil has become saturated with the toxins it has pulled out, it will become somewhat whitish and a thinner, milky consistency. Spit the oil out (never swallow the oil because it is toxic at this point) and rinse your mouth out with warm salt water. I dissolve Celtic sea salt or Himalayan crystal salt in alkaline water.

Then brush your teeth with the clay toothpaste or other natural toothpaste. I keep a separate toothbrush for oil pulling because it can build up with toxins and bacteria. Always run the brush under hot water for a few minutes and then allow to air dry. You can oil pull every single day, and some people swish three times a day. I do it first thing in the morning. Just always do it on an empty stomach. On a full stomach, the toxins in your mouth may give you nausea. Sesame oil or sunflower oil are the most effective. Coconut oil as not supposed to be as effective, but I use that too to mix it up.

Oil pulling can really help with: oral health (tooth decay, loose teeth, bleeding gums, bad breath, whitening of your teeth), eczema, acne and other skin conditions, respiratory disorders like bronchitis and sinus congestion, headaches and migraines, insomnia, thrombosis, inflammation, arthritis, increasing your metabolism, general detoxification, and overall health. I found that my teeth were whiter, and I no longer had to scrape my tongue. Just amazing.

Some of the other products I love in the Miracle Clay range are the clay shampoo, conditioner, and the daily lotion. The clay hair products help to strengthen hair follicles and leave my hair feeling clean, healthy, and smelling fabulous. Unlike a lot of commercial hair products, the shampoo and conditioner don't contain any parabens or sulfates, and are really gentle. They are also great for help dry scalp and dandruff as well.

The lotion can be used for the face, hands, or body, and is incredible. Most lotions are water-based, and so they tend to evaporate. But, the Miracle Clay Lotion is almond oil-based, so it penetrates deep into the layers of the skin supplying nutrients and moisture to skin cells. I find this lotion sensational for my hands. They stay soft and hydrated for much longer than with other lotions that I have to keep reapplying throughout the day. This lotion provides deep hydration from the minerals that are deposited from the clay.

Having a Clay Bath is one of the safest, fastest, and most effective methods to remove toxins and chemicals that have accumulated in the skin and body. Taking a 20 to 30-minute hot bath opens up the pores of the skin allowing the clay to stimulate the lymphatic system, and deeply cleanse and detoxify the skin and other major organs. For the best results, add about 3-4 ounces of the clay under the running water when you are filling up the bath to make sure it spreads nicely throughout the whole bath. The hotter the water, the better.

I have been soaking in clay baths for many years to help remove heavy metals, such as mercury, lead, arsenic, aluminum, and cadmium. Some customers have reported seeing small specks of metal at the bottom of the bath tub after getting out. Very recent research is suggesting that clay baths may be effective in treat autism. Miracle Clay’s customers have experienced drastic results from using this product such as healing severe cases of eczema, psoriasis and removing other skin irritations and rashes. One mother, who had tried virtually everything to help her six year old son’s chronic case of eczema, reported that after one month of using the Miracle Clay soap, calming cream, and soaking in clay baths a few times a week, his eczema had disappeared.

But the best use of Calcium Montmorillonite Clay is to take it internally. I cannot race enough about the health benefits. Of course, always consult your health care professional before trying anything new. But, I encourage you to give clay a go! Clay contains nearly 60 essential trace minerals proven to gently absorb dietary, metabolic, and harmful bacterial toxins found in the stomach, small intestine, and colon. By taking the clay regularly, you can experience incredible results, including more energy, a stronger immune system, improved digestion, reduced acid levels in the body, and overall well being. On average, the dose is about 1/2 a teaspoon of powder for every 50 lbs of body weight. So, I take just over one teaspoon. For the best results, take a dose everyday when starting out, as it takes time for the minerals to build up in the body and for the clay to take effect. You should start noticing a difference in about 2-4 weeks.

It is best to consume the clay on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, at least one hour before breakfast. You can also take it on an empty stomach right before you go to bed. You can stir the clay into a 16 ounce glass of cold filtered water. But many people find the taste makes them want to gag! You can also mix it into a glass of juice. One of the best ways to enjoy the clay is in your morning green smoothie. This recipe I am sharing today is Vlad’s favorite green smoothie blend, and it is delicious! You can use any kind of sweet fruit you like to mask the taste of the clay. But, there is still a slightly gritty texture any smoothie you make with clay. This is normal, and you get used to it. The health benefits are so incredible, who cares about the grit!

*One important thing to mention when consuming clay is to keep really hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. The more water you drink, the better the minerals will work.
**Also, make sure you do NOT use a metal spoon to mix or spoon out the clay. The clay has a very strong negative electrical charge, and will magnetically attract metal particles from the spoon onto the clay, and we don’t want those metals entering our bodies.

Thanks for sharing your recipe Vlad. You rock!

  2. With a non-reactive spoon, add 1 tablespoon of clay to the blender for every 50 lbs of body weight, and blend on high for 5 to 10 seconds until well combined.
