I honestly cannot rave enough about Ann, her delicious recipes, and her restaurants. I eat at RFD at least once a week, and always sit surrounded by other happy patrons all singing the praises of the fresh organic, local, vegan food. I swear I have contemplated selling my soul for the vegan crab cakes. I have been known to order four plates in one sitting! Oh My.... So who is the lovely lady that is nourishing so many people? Ann Gentry was born in Tennessee, and grew up in a home filled with great food and a love... Keep Reading

I don't know about you, but everybody I know LOVES guacamole, and you can make in your Vitamix in seconds! Watch my Vitamix Guacamole video for some tips. All you do is throw all of your ingredients into the container and process on a low variable speed (around level 3) using your tamper. I like a chunky texture so I only process mine for about 5 seconds. But if you prefer a smoother texture just blend for a little longer. This recipe is incredibly simple. It is delicious as it is, or it serves as a base for all kinds of flavourful inspiration. This recipe is really easy to adapt and make your own. Hot peppers are great for an extra kick, or try adding some fruit into the mix. Mangoes and oranges go beautifully with the rich buttery... Keep Reading
Why buy store-bought nut and seed butters when you can make them so easily in your Vitamix. As I say in my Vitamix Nut Butters Video, nut and seed butters in the Vitamix are amazing because they're FRESH. You can completely control the integrity of the finished product -- the freshness of the nuts and oils, the salt and sugar levels, and the texture. Furthermore, they don't contain any additives or preservatives. Now, I thought long and hard about whether to post this recipe, as I make no secret on this website (except for roasted hazelnuts that I have used in some cakes and spreads) that I only eat raw nuts and seeds that have been soaked and sprouted. Read more about this on my Why Soak Grains, Nuts and Seeds page. But briefly,... Keep Reading

This week is all about dips and spreads, and I am going to share some of my favourite super easy recipes this week. Those of you who tried my mango salsa green smoothie a few months ago will remember my fondness for fruit salsas. I love how versatile they are -- you can pair them with sweet and savoury flavours. They make a fantastic quick easy dip with corn chips or veggie sticks, or as a side with grilled vegetables or tofu! I even enjoy this mango salsa on vegan ice cream. YUMMO! Making salsa in your Vitamix is SO quick and easy! Who needs knives and cutting boards? You can literally throw... Keep Reading
