Blender Recipes

I was really thrilled when Navitas Naturals featured me in their newsletter at the beginning of the month. You can read the whole interview here, and be sure to subscribe to their list for fabulous superfoods information, and interviews with some of the world's leading chefs and welness experts.  As part of their story, I shared one of my favourite superfood recipes, this Sweet Superfood Green Machine, which is a staple recipe in our household. I chose this particular blend, as I receive countless emails from readers asking about concentrated green powders (particularly chlorella, spirulina, and wheatgrass) and how best to incorporate them into tasty smoothies.  I am always looking for new and interesting ways to include more... The Navitas Naturals giveaway is proving to be extremely popular, with everybody wanting to get their hands on 1 of 4 $200 gift cards and copies of Julie Morris's new book, SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES. Congratulations to Julia Shealy, who is the first lucky winner. I will announce another winner next week. The Navitas Naturals superfoods were really a game changer for me. I was already a very health vegan alkalarian following a nutrient-dense diet high in leafy greens and chlorophyll-rich foods. But, including some of the Navitas Superfoods such as lucuma powder, acai powder, camu powder, goji berry powder, goldenberry powder, maqui berry powder, mesquite powder, pomegranate powder, wheatgrass powder, and raw maca powder elevated my diet to... It is the last day of our fabulous Breville All-In-One giveaway, and I can't wait to see who will win the last machine. I am totally in love with what people are calling, the Swiss army knife of kitchen appliances. I particularly love the mashing attachment with three settings for course to fine pureeing. It is so easy to use and clean. I love making various vegetable purees as an alternative to the ubiquitous mashed potatoes, and this roasted parsnip mash with caramelized onions and fresh herbs is absolutely sensational. Scott's mum, Sandra (you may remember her from the fabulous tomato and basil soup post) and step-dad, John came to visit us last week, and we had a blast. They both love preparing food from their garden, and they... Keep Reading

Happy St Patrick's Day! This is my favourite "non holiday season" celebration of the year, not just because I am part Irish (yes, I am a McDermott and an O'Sullivan), but because the entire world goes green with food! Yippppeeee! I thought long and hard about what special "green" recipe I was going to share to pay homage this year, and I decided on this raw, alkaline, sugar-free, cancer-friendly, diabetic-friendly mint pudding that Scott and other acutely ill patients could enjoy.  I have received literally hundreds of emails from readers and listeners who have read our cancer story, or listened to The pH Miracle, who have asked for help and support with recipes to aid their transition into a more alkaline lifestyle. I am going to... Keep Reading

This almond milk kefir strawberry smoothie is one of my favourite kefir smoothies, and was a lifesaver for me when I was transitioning from stage one of The Body Ecology Diet. Yesterday, I posted my super easy recipe for raw almond milk kefir. and shared how including this plant based kefir, along with coconut water kefir, cultured coconut pudding, and fermented vegetables help to rebalance my inner eco system and restore my optimum health and vitality. This is one of my favourite body ecology friendly recipes.
