As promised, in honour of our Vega Giveaway, here is my one of my favourite Vega Protein Green Smoothies using Brazil Nut Milk. This Banana Vanilla Chai Green Smoothie is so delicious it tastes like a decadent dessert in a glass. WOW! I think the Vanilla Chai Vega One all-in-one nutritional shake might be my all-time favourite Vega flavour. YUMMO! It is so delicious, you don't need to add much in order to create smoothie magic! I really love the Vega protein powders. After trying almost every protein powder on the market, I still think they're the best vegan products in the world. So many other formulas have a gritty texture and weird after-taste. The Vega blends are perfectly balanced. I was never a fan of protein powders, but... Keep Reading
Our Vitamix 750 Giveaway continues to blitz Facebook and Twitter, and I coudn't be more excited! I can't wait to tell one lucky winner that their new Vitamix is on the way! If you haven't entered yet, don't miss the opportunity to get your hands on the machine that will change your life, making food preparation so much easier! One of the many great features of the Vitamix is that you can use it much like you would a food processor to chop practially any kind of food. Be sure to check out my Vitamix Food Prep video, where I explain the wet chop and dry chop methods in the Vitamix. I mention this because on the surface this applesauce seems ridiculously easy and very basic. But that is how I like to roll in the kitchen, and it is... Keep Reading
Why buy store-bought nut and seed butters when you can make them so easily in your Vitamix. As I say in my Vitamix Nut Butters Video, nut and seed butters in the Vitamix are amazing because they're FRESH. You can completely control the integrity of the finished product -- the freshness of the nuts and oils, the salt and sugar levels, and the texture. Furthermore, they don't contain any additives or preservatives. Now, I thought long and hard about whether to post this recipe, as I make no secret on this website (except for roasted hazelnuts that I have used in some cakes and spreads) that I only eat raw nuts and seeds that have been soaked and sprouted. Read more about this on my Why Soak Grains, Nuts and Seeds page. But briefly,... Keep Reading
We continue our celebration of Vitamix Smoothies and our fabulous Vitamix 750 Giveaway with this delicious Vitamix Autumn Sweet Potato Smoothie. This delicious blend is a wonderful treat for fall, and a great way to use leftover sweet potato after the holidays. This delectable drink is loaded with antioxidants and goodies, but is still FUN! Next time you are craving potatoes, grab for sweet potatoes instead. Sweet potatoes are a FABULOUS source of beta carotene, and have shown up in some studies to raise our blood levels of Vitamin A. To get the full benefit of the goodness of sweet potatoes it is recommend to add a tiny bit of good quality cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. I added a teaspoon of cold pressed coconut oil to this... Keep Reading
We continue our celebration of "all things Vitamix" with another delicious healthy smoothie that can be made in minutes. As I have said many times, I could literally live without teeth! I just LOVE fruit and vegetable smoothies because you can create endless varieties of nutrient-dense meals that taste delicious and are fun! Now, I don't know about you, but so much of the enjoyment of food is about texture. The BEST thing about the Vitamix is the gorgeous creamy texture you get with smoothies. Instead of getting the lumps and bits you can't get rid of with traditional blenders, the Vitamix will pulverize anything like fibrous vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, and rock hard frozen fruits. Afterall, they ARE called "smoothies!" As I... Keep Reading

I decided to start this month's delicious recipes featuring smoothies, drinks, and milks. I use my Vitamix every single day to make smoothies and vegan milks. It is DAY 13 of “Raw Food Recipes with Excallibur” and to help celebrate our Excalibur Dehydrator Giveaway I invited the life of the party, and one of Excalibur’s biggest devotees, the delightful Katie Kimball from Kitchen Stewardship. To say this woman is HILARIOUS is an understatement. Every time I get an email from her, guffaws of gargantuan proportions are uncorked. This lady is so much FUN, and her fabulous blog is quickly becoming one of my weekly “must reads”. Katie Kimball is a mother of three and home cook, who spends a ton of time in the kitchen making real food with whole ingredients and then blogging with good humour about her successes and failures at Kitchen Stewardship. A proud locavore, she also maintains a green... Keep Reading

I enjoy these for breakfast as well as for dessert, paired with a warm cup of herbal tea.” I say, “These scones are scrumptious, and take them any way you can get them! YUMMO!” Just a note about the oats: oats have long been known for being an excellent source of soluble fiber which is... Keep Reading
