Piggies, today I am sharing the last of my "blender-inspired" recipes in my four month of guest posts with Recipe Relay. Check out this amazing website where cooks create recipes "relaying" local seasonal ingredients off each other. I love this idea. It is so different from other recipe sites out there. I started my series with my zesty ginger lemonade made with whole lemons; then moved onto my creamy vegan butternut squash soup; and then shared (what turned out to be a very popular) raw vegan spicy cranberry mousse. I had planned to finish my time with Recipe Relay by sharing a delectable vegan maple pecan sweet potato pie that has had me rubbing my belly with piggy pride after scoffing three slices in one sitting on more than one... Piggies, I shared this delicious raw vegan orange cranberry mousse as part of my blender-inspired series for Recipe Relay last week, and I thought it only fair that I share it here. I love home made cranberry sauce with the delicious blend of sweet and spicy! Cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg just scream autumn to me, and I feel warm and comforted. I was craving those flavours the other day, so I had the idea of creating a super quick and easy spiced cranberry mousse that I could serve at holiday dinners. I have a penchant for quick blender mousses using avocado as the base. “God’s butter” never lets me down and serves as a wonderful blank canvas for inspiration. After blending and tasting this mousse for over half an hour and devouring half of... Keep Reading

I went to see my all-time-favourite musical last night and bawled like a baby. The new restaged version of Les Miserables is touring in celebration of the show's 25th anniversary. I have seen a production of this show on almost every continent, and have, on more than one occasion, been the last nostalgic fan blubbering in the stalls! Polite ushers from theatres far and wide have had to politely ask me to vacate the theatre as I stared longingly into the curtain praying for an encore. Last night's performance was not the best production I have seen. The show was too big for the theatre and I am not a fan of that modern clipped singing style that this production's musical director seemed to be championing. At one point, I thought Epinone... A few months ago, I was approached by Square One Organics to develop some vegan recipes using their organic pureed foods. This was as vegetarian food blogger's dream challenge. However, as I was not familiar with the company, (and having never officially endorsed a product or featured anything commercial on my recipe blog) I needed to know their philosophy was compatible with mine before I proceeded. Once I read Square One's inspiring story (that was so similar to my experience with my niece and her food allergies) and sampled their full range of organic purees I felt compelled to share these amazing products with my fellow discerning piggies, as well as take up the recipe challenge. I have to say, that I have fallen in love with this... Keep Reading
Well..my five weeks of bliss with my family has unfortunately come to an end. We had a wonderful time together eating, laughing and shopping our way around L.A, and I am so grateful to have had this special time with them. But in true piggy fashion, I wanted more time. It took all of my father's strength to pry my co-dependent hands from around my mother's neck. So there I was, after my best "desperate monkey routine" bawling like a baby frantically waving good-bye to my parents as they disappeared behind the security area. Talk about ripping my heart out of my chest... After drowning myself in cheesy 80's love songs (my go-to antidote of choice when I find myself in the depths of self-pitying misery) as I drove bleary-eyed all the way... Keep Reading
No "Fisher Family Christmas" would be complete without my mum's "I will sell my soul for the last spoonful" brandy cream. We proudly consider it a team effort on Christmas eve when she makes up a quadruple batch for the hungry snouts sniffing around in the kitchen for the first taste of Christmas heaven. Everyone has to have a spoonful (or two or three!) to approve the quantities of brandy and sugar, and to ensure that the blend is "Fisher snout-worthy". Our motto? "You can never have too much brandy"! My uncle John always gets the last say, having officially proclaimed himself as the ultimate "Ann brandy cream afficionado", after being sprung one-too-many times over the decades with guilty snout in fridge and finger in jug licking out the... Well, it is that time of year again -- the holiday season has officially begun. These next 5 weeks are my favourite of the whole year, when families get together for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve, to celebrate love. I am not American and did not grow up celebrating Thanksgiving. But after living almost half of my life in the United States, I have come to embrace this tradition with fondness and respect. But you know me, any chance to combine my three favourite things -- food, family and love! I would like to wish every one of my American readers "a very happy Thanksgiving"; and in celebration of this holiday week, offer up my "easy peasy gluten free crustless blender pumpkin pie". Gosh, that's a mouthful! But a delectable... Keep Reading
"Listen up" discerning piggies - here's a recipe NOT be to missed! This little treat is a SHOWSTOPPER: and would have to be one of the most incredible gluten free cakes I have ever tasted in my life. Of course, I am going to say that about most of Nigella Lawson's inspired recipes. However, I have served this up to many happy snouts who proudly agree (after two or three or FOUR slices) that this is sheer piggy heaven - a stunner, a winner, a keeper! AND dare I say it……"ANGELS"!!! I first sampled a bite of this heavenly damp lemon and almond cake when Zoe made it for one of our famous feasts with Kris and Beth. Now, we all know that Zoe is a wonderful cook, and always serves up something pretty special. But this magic mix surpassed even my... Keep Reading
Hello, I am The Blender Girl, and I continue my shameless bribes with chocolate. Feedburner is still "crapping itself" and I apologise again for the relentless "spamming" of your inboxes. So I offer up more chocolate today in the hopes of appeasing you and encouraging Feedburner to join our healthy blending party! I am a proud raw vegan chocoholic. Or more specifically, a raw vegan chocolate moussaholic. Today, I thought it was time I posted my favourite raw vegan allergy free chocolate mousse recipe that can be made in less than five minutes in your blender (I like to use my Vitamix) and is absolutely divine. For those of you looking for quick easy Vitamix recipes and blender recipes this is a winner! If the allergy free gluten free... Keep Reading
