Well, I survived Storm Sandy in NYC, and am back in L.A safe and sound, feeling incredibly fortunate. My love and thoughts go out to the victims of this horrible tragedy, and my admiration and respect extended to the hard-working rescue and support teams that brought the city back to life! What a surreal time, walking up the street to Penn Station right before the storm without another human being in sight! Scott is living in Manhatten until Christmas, and I am flying back and forth. We are loving being honorary New Yorkers, and really experienced the enduring New York community spirit during this experience.  Scott came home this weekend for some meetings, and as we will be in NYC for Thanksgiving (at Candle 79 for their vegan feast... It is pretty hard to walk around the Chelsea area without "Blossoming!" Pamela and her trusty team have got the vegan market covered, and they fly the "plant-based" flag in spectacular fashion to happy, healthy Manhattenites! I was lucky enough to meet the gorgeous Pamela, and her rock star manager, R.J Thompson, when I strolled into the new Blossom Du Jour location in midtown a few months ago. Scott is living there until Christmas, and not being comfortable with his vegan alkaline meals I... Keep Reading

Piggies! I have been inspired by our Gluten Free Healthy Surprise Giveaway, and so this month I am sharing some quick easy gluten free vegan snack recipes. These maple cinnamon almonds are absolutely scrumptious! Raw almonds are my favourite snack food, and if I want to make them more decadent, I cover them in different sweeteners and flavourings and dehydrate them. I made a few different kinds of sugar almonds last Christmas, and they were a huge hit. I have labelled this recipe as "raw" because the almonds are raw and dehydrated. However, strictly speaking, they are not completely raw because the maple sugar has been made from boiled maple syrup. But, there are raw foodists who eat maple syrup. So I thought I would include it in the... Keep Reading
