Late last year, I took a PHENOMENAL pie-making class with award-winning pie maker and master teacher Kate McDermott from Art Of The Pie and I simply HAD to share the experience with you. Happy St Patrick's Day! This is my favourite "non holiday season" celebration of the year, not just because I am part Irish (yes, I am a McDermott and an O'Sullivan), but because the entire world goes green with food! It is Valentine's Day this week, and I have been saving my most decadent "make your sweetheart weak at the knees" chocolate hazelnut shake for this occasion. I had an absolute blast last week under the guidance of rawkstar celebrity chef Michael Vincent, attending the "Essentials Of Raw Cuisine" Weekend Intensive Cooking Class at Matthew Kenney Culinary in Santa Monica with my delightful sidekick Lauren Felts from The Holy Kale.  This 12 hour course covers A LOT! Well, I survived Storm Sandy in NYC, and am back in L.A safe and sound, feeling incredibly fortunate. My love and thoughts go out to the victims of this horrible tragedy, and my admiration and respect extended to the hard-working rescue and support teams that brought the city back to life! What a surreal time, walking up the street to Penn Station right before the storm without another human being in sight! Scott is living in Manhatten until Christmas, and I am flying back and forth.
