It is DAY 30 of "Raw Food Recipes with Excalibur" and I have deliberately saved this lovely lady to last! Not only because we are nearing the end of August and moving into the California Food Literacy Month of September that she successfully lobbied for; but also because she is one of my very favourite food bloggers in the world! I speak of my friend, the FABULOUS Amber Stott, founder of California Food Literacy Center, and blogger extraodinaire at Awake at the Whisk. If you don't know Amber, well, you are just missing out on one of the most incredible women on the planet. Literally. I first met Amber at IFBC in 2011. I fell in love with her there, stayed in touch, and then hung out a whole lot more at BlogHer Food 2012 in Seattle... Keep Reading

It is DAY 24 of "Raw Food Recipes with Excalibur" and if you think eating raw foods is expensive, the gorgeous Brandi Rollins from Raw Foods on a Budget will change your mind. This lady certainly knows how to stretch a dollar in a healthy way. I just LOVE Brandi's philosophy, "In every budget is the opportunity to experience limitation or abundance. The choice is ours." Brandi is passionate about educating people about live raw whole foods, and offering practical strategies that make this lifestyle a manageable reality for average familes. She has written several books on affordable whole foods living, and thriving on raw foods in cold climates. Brandi’s most recent book, RAW FOODS ON A BUDGET, is a winner of the 2012 Independent... It is DAY 15 of "Raw Food Recipes with Excalibur" and we are RAWKING the house with the incredible Chef Be*Live. Those of you who are familiar with Brian James Lucas would be well aware of his dynamic energy and infectious passion for raw foods. Brian James Lucas / Chef Be*Live is one of the pioneers of the gourmet raw food movement. In the late 1990's, Brian was Executive Chef and co-owner of Organica: The Living Cuisine, in San Francisco, CA. It is DAY 4 of "Raw Food Recipes with Excalibur", and today I am thrilled to feature one of my favourite men in the raw foods world -- Ron Russell, owner and head chef of my local raw foods restaurant, Sun Cafe, in L.A. Ron, a devout vegetarian for over 35 years, who became a cher during his college years, has been dedicated to creating healthier versions of traditional classics, and developing unique dishes of his own inspiration for years! Twelve years ago, Ron became interested in raw foods after hearing a lecture by David Wolfe, and since then has been a passionate raw foodist, developing hundreds of fabulous recipes, and building up a thriving raw foods restaurant, Sun Cafe, with chef Roi Elam. To call this my "local haunt"... Keep Reading

Can you believe it is already December 1st? WHERE has the time gone this year? I must say, that I am not disappointed, as this is my favourite time of the year! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the holidays. I had a wonderful thanksgiving up in Sacramento eating more than my fair share of delicious decadent food! I love how good food and holidays bring family and friends together in celebration. But after my slightly over-indulgent acidic orgy that saw me coat-checking my colon at every turn, I have been doing some much needed detoxing with a lot of green smoothies preparing for the Christmas festivities. I will share some delicious Christmas treats in the coming weeks and then we will detox together in January! So instead of sharing some of my new green... Keep Reading
Piggies! This is my one of my favourite healthy gluten free vegetarian recipes that I created using the amazing Square One Organics range of vegetable purees. Once again proving that baby food is not just for babies. It is also for healthy blender pigs! I don't know about you, but I love vegan quinoa recipes, and I am a big fan of quinoa risotto. It is one of those quick easy allergy free meals the whole family can enjoy, and best of all, nobody will know it is vegan! This quinoa risotto is so creamy and packed full of flavour, even your most skeptical dinner guests won't have a clue. I had planned on posting this vegan recipe right after my vegan mango coconut panna cotta pudding and vegan chocolate spinach shake, which were also made... Keep Reading

I had the most inspiring day attending the second annual Women Of The Green Generation at the incredible Marrakesh House in Culver City. I was so excited to meet so many green women I have admired for such a long time -- leaders in the green movement, who I had previously only connected with in the virtual world on Twitter and Facebook, after having read their books, blogs and websites, tuned into their TV shows, radio programs and podcasts, or by using their products. There is something electric about the energy of a group of environmentally concious, intelligent, motivated, mindful, compassionate women with a common goal. I walked away feeling so optimistic -- as if anything was possible. To read more about my inspiring day head to my... Keep Reading
