Vitamix Vegan Spiced Strawberry Ice Cream

This is the last week of our fabulous Vitamix Giveaway. If you haven't entered yet, don't miss out on your chance to win a Vitamix 750 Professional Series valued at $689! We end out month of fabulous recipes from the Vitamix Recipe Center with TREATS! Yippppeeee! I have saved the best for last. A week of quick easy desserts and soups! YUMMO!

This Spiced Strawberry Ice Cream is my absolute FAVOURITE recipe in the Vitamix Recipe Center. It is super quick and easy and absolutely DELICIOUS. This scrumptious blend strikes a fabulous balance between sweet and spicy and is hard to quit eating! I fell in love with this recipe after filming the Vitamix Recipe Video.

This video shows just how easy it is to make this yummy treat in seconds by throwing everything into your Vitamix. The original recipe used granulated sugar and dairy milk. I use soy milk or almond milk and blend the milk with 1/4 cup pitted dates until well blended. I then add in the strawberries and jalapeno. This is my perfect blend. But you might like to use coconut sugar or any other sweetener of your choice. You can also use any milk too.

I honestly can't do this ice cream justice except to say, "It is a stunner, a winner, and not to be missed!" ENJOY :)

Piggy Cooking Tips

the best way to clean your blender

After blending up something sticky, gooey or smelly, just place a few drops of soap in the carriage with some warm water and blend on high until all of the congealed food slips away from the blades and sides. Then repeat this process. Then rinse with water and presto! Clean carriage.
If you have smells or stains repeat this process with some bicarbonate of soda or lemon juice and water.
Check out the video on A No Hassle Way To Clean Your Blender that I did as part of the Chow Tips Series.

Sweet and spicy!  You got me there!  This looks like a winner in my book, too!  It’s 35 degrees outside right now this morning.  Will be warmer again later in the week - then I’ll make this little up and enjoy it (in the Sun!)  I love enjoying my colder smoothies, ice creams and sorbets while sitting out side on the back deck soaking up the Sun and its warmth as I’m enjoying and savoring a cool, delicious, healthy treat!  Warms my body, mind and spirit!  Thanks, Tess!  XO
