Tess is an innovative healthy chef!  She continually comes up with ways of finding food near and dear to people’s hearts that can be made in ways so much more wholesome for their bodies!  Tess’s quick-witted mind can come up with ideas of cooking that seem to magically come together in a delight for the taste buds!! Here’s to that “apple pie”!

Thanks for recipes that include items already in my pantry. I never have to make a special trip to the store or buy speciality ingredients.

Apologies for this comment, but several items in your recipes are not optimal and might be replaced by other ingredients. More details soon, but for now, cashews are not recommended and are not used by Hippocrates Health Institute and other high level nutritional consultants as the plant contains a toxin (will be specific later)......and agave is proven in blood analysis to aggravate the colon and also causes food allergies, as its glycemic index is very high. It can be replaced by stevia. Almonds, walnuts, and pine nuts are recommended over cashews, which are often used by commercial raw food bars in the “pastry” section, for their texture. They should not be a staple of one’s raw food diet.

Thankyou for your input.
I am well aware of health issues with cashews and agave. I actually talk about this in my about pages and cooking glossary. This smoothie is a treat and meant for fun. Nowhere does it suggest that this should be a staple in one’s diet. There are lots of recipes on this site that do not use those ingredients, and when I do use them, I will often suggest substitutions.
You seem to be very well educated on these issues which is fantastic.
Feel free to substitute ingredients wherever you see fit.
