My Epic Weekend in Phoenix

My time in Phoenix and Scottsdale was EPIC! My dear friend Wendi flew down from Seattle and we had such a blast together. She is so positive and hilarious, she had me in stitches the entire time! She was also such an amazing help assisting me with my hectic schedule.

The team at the Westin Downtown Phoenix spoiled us rotten and made our stay so incredible. They hosted us in an exquisite corner suite on the top floor with incredible views of downtown Phoenix and the mountains. The hotel is so chic and modern, with the lobby and sitting areas so inviting. When we checked in the evening I was absolutely exhausted and was so thrilled to be greeted with a gorgeous heavenly bed as part of the Westin Sleep Well program and delicious healthy dips as part of their Eat Well program encouraging guests to make healthy eating choices. Check out the delicious gluten free, vegan cookies Chef Chad sent up as a treat. Yum! The Westin WellBeing Movement just blows me away.

The next morning we had an amazing breakfast ordering off the Westin Superfoods RX menu with meals specially combined for maximum nutrition. I had a beautiful bowl of fresh berries and Wenz had an egg white omelette. We then went off to appear on Arizona Midday. I made the instant raspberry jam from the book. It’s always a hit. When then moved onto the gorgeous Williams-Sonoma store at Biltmore Plaza to shoot a segment for The List TV Show. The team at Williams-Sonoma were so generous to allow us to us their space and had it set up so beautifully. I shared my Top 6 Smoothie Tips with Donna Ruko and we had such fun! We created a smoothie on the spot and it was absolutely delicious! Thanks to Dave Taylor for putting the segment together and being so great to work with. And huge thanks to my sponsors: Vitamix, Le Creuset, Melissa's Produce, Driscoll's, Earthbound Farm, Kevita, Navitas Naturals, and Massel for sending product to blend up!

Wendi and I then had a beautiful dinner at True Food with the hilariousv Erica Dermer from Celiac And The Beast and Raquel Fagan. I just love those ladies, and they were so incredibly supportive attending my events while I was in town. Just wonderful women doing cool things.

The next day Wenz and I packed up our blender again to make the pineapple ginger lemonade and key lime mousse on Good Morning Arizona. Everybody was so friendly and they loved the food and the Kitchen IQ zesters and graters I was using. I want everybody to know about those amazing tools. I use them everyday and couldn't live without them.

We then drove to Scottsdale to the gorgeous Le Creuset Signature Store at Scottsdale Quarter. I had a wonderful time meeting people and using my blender and the gorgeous Le Creuset cookware to make some delicious food from my book. It was such a great crowd, and I was thrilled when Michelle won the Le Creuset Palm Platter. Thankyou so much to Nancy, Jenn, Lois, and Val for hosting me. What a wonderful afternoon.

Wenz and I then drove back to hang out with our new friends at Wiliams-Sonoma Phoenix, where there was an awesome crowd so enthusiastic about learning about what a high speed blender can do. Thanks to Cindy, Linda, Lisa, Brett, Bonnie, and Michael for having everything prepped so beautifully and making it all so easy and fun for me. Thanks to John, Rachel, Raquel, Erica, and Lori for coming down to support me! You guys rock! I laughed when (in true fashion) Wenz pulled out a miniature "lipstick purse" to carry my lipstick. She made a joke many years ago that she would do that for me one day, and there it was. Just hilarious! We all had a good laugh over Thai food in Scottsdale. Yum....

Another fun thing Wendi did was to bring a little Ernie finger puppet to accompany us on our adventure. Her little son Danny was so upset that she was leaving for a few days that she created a game between them to make it fun. Wendi took the Ernie puppet and gave Danny Bert. We texted photos of what Ernie was doing on Phoenix, and Danny sent pics of what Bert was doing in Seattle. It was SO adorable! The staff at the Westin were such great sports, sending up a heavenly roll away bed for Ernie to sleep in. How cute is this!

Wendi and I decided to treat ourselves on our last morning in our gorgeous suite and take advantage of the Westin Wellbeing In-Room Spa treatments. I took a bath in the most incredible bath tub I have ever lay in with incredible views of the city. I lay in the tub and my feet didn't touch the end, and when I sat up the water touched my shoulders. That is how long and deep the tub was. I took photos and I am already dreaming of getting that tub in my house! What an amazing bathroom! Wendi and I both had amazing massages and felt like a million dollars.

The Westin Wellbeing movement has a mandate of having guests leave in a better state of wellness than when they arrived. Well, with the heavenly bed, the heavenly bathtub, the heavenly food, and the heavenly massages, they certainly succeeded! I am already dreaming of returning to this hotel. Just amazing.....I arrived at the Williams-Sonoma store in Scottsdale like a happy wet noodle and had a blast sharing more recipes with the peeps there. I got on the plane with a huge smile on my face cherishing the memories.
