This spectacular spin on the classic Breuss Juice from Meredith Baird is a cleanse champion.

Meredith says, "The Austrian naturopath doctor, Rudolph Breuss developed this juice consisting of beets, carrots, celery, radish, and potatoes in specific ratios to provide a balance of basic elements required for the body's nourishment. This juice is used as part of a 42-day fast for alternative cancer treatment. The intended effect is to starve abnormal cells. No matter what your intention, this is a balanced, powerfully detoxifying juice. We recommend this juice as an on-the-go lunch replacement. Using parsnip in the recipe really helps round out the flavor. We also use daikon radish in our recipe, but you can use 3 regular red radishes if you can't find daikon."

This tasty and powerful tonic in her book, Everyday Raw Detox. She sent me an advanced copy so I could choose a couple of recipes to feature this month, and let me tell you.....this book is amazing. If you want to be inspired to detox, this is the book.

As usual with Meredith and Matthew, this latest book is class all the way. With stunning photography from Adrian Mueller, enticing descriptions, and valuable information about ingredients, juicing and blending techniques, this book will get you excited about being the best healthy version of yourself.

One of best things about this book is that is makes detoxing accessible and fun. This book is all about pleasure - finding sexy and interesting ways to incorporate healthy food into your diet. You can detox at a level that feels comfortable. Whether you want to cleanse for a day, a week, or find healthy live recipes, there is something on offer. There are 100 exotic raw, vegan recipes in this book from juices, to blended fruit or vegetable smoothies, brewed tonics, appetizers, soups, salads, dips, and main dishes, a section of skin and body tonics, and a wonderful resources section.

These are not your run-of-the-mill recipes. These are works of art! Some of my favorite recipes include: Banana Carrot Chai Smoothie, Blueberries and Cream Kefir Smoothie, Miso Me-So-Green Smoothie, V 10 Juice, Herbal Infusion, Chai Mai Latte, Rose and Aloe Spritz, Chamomile Nettle Tea, Chia and Buckwheat Cereal, Mimosa Sorbet, Collard Burrito, Curried Spinach Dip, Cauliflower Caviar, Blood Orange-Scented Beet Soup, Beet Spaghettini with Pistachio Thyme Pesto, and the Coconut Hair Mask.

Hailing from South Carolina, Meredith has had a lifelong passion for vegetarian cuisine and an innate artistic sensibility. After college, she became a certified raw food chef and instructor, and pursued her culinary career in Napa Valley, where she was able to incorporate her knowledge and love of wine into a healthy lifestyle and gourmet cuisine. After California, she moved to New York to join the Matthew Kenney team.

Since 2008, Meredith has been a crucial part of the Matthew Kenney Lifestyle brand. She has assisted in writing several books with Matthew, including Everyday Raw Express, Everyday Raw Desserts, and Raw Chocolate.
