Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely holiday season, and are ready for an amazing new year. Scott and I have been having an amazing time in Australia, and enjoying the hot weather and sunshine before we head back to L.A.

We've been making a lot of fruit-flavored lemonades for our summer picnics, barbecues, and outside dinner parties with friends. This strawberry bell pepper lemonade was a huge hit this summer, and I had to share it with you.

This lemonade is a staple in our house because it's refreshing and has a really amazing depth of flavor. The secret? A blend of strawberries and bell pepper. It just makes me weak at the knees.

Those of you who've blended your way through The Blender Girl Smoothies app or cookbook would be familiar with my penchant for the berry bell pepper combo. One of my favorite smoothies in The Perfect Blend is the Red Basil Balsamic Blast smoothie utilizing a blend of berries, bell pepper, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic vinegar. It is unbelievably good.

This lemonade can be thrown together in less than 10 minutes and always wows people. If you're using a high-speed blender there is no need to strain. Just chill and enjoy or serve over ice. If you're using a conventional blender you may want to strain in order to get a really smooth consistency that resembles a commercial lemonade.

I shared my tips for making this lemonade in a video with KitchenIQ. I really want everybody to know about their incredible kitchen tools because they really help you work smarter in the kitchen.

Check out their pepper tool, which deseeds bell peppers or chili peppers in less than 5 seconds. Just insert the tool into the bottom of a pepper and twist. I also use their ginger tool almost every day to peel, mince, grate, and slice fresh ginger root. And I just couldn't live without their citrus zester that catches the zest in the back catchment slider.

Watch my video to see these tools in action.

Let me know what you think of this lemonade in the comments below.
